Thoughts from Jim's Family

Carol, Jim's wife:

"Jim and I married in our early twenties. We were in law school at the time. I am always amazed at what a hard worker he is. He gets up at 5 a.m. every morning, and cheerfully meets clients on the weekends. A third generation Shasta County Resident, Jim is devoted to the North State, it's natural beauty, and it's residents."

Brooke, Jim's daughter:

"My dad has always been one of my biggest role models. I like to flatter myself in believing I've inherited his best traits, as people have always told me how much I remind them of him - perhaps this is because when I was baby he used to carry me everywhere he went - to change the water, to mow the lawn, everything. I am so glad I decided to work for him when I graduated from law school. He is an extremely good mentor: knowledgeable, patient, confident, and hands-off so that I can really learn and experience the law on my own. While I will really miss working with him every day when he wins the election, I'll be happy knowing the residents of District 2 are in great hands and that he'll be able to make the same mark on the state and the country he's made on me."

Dustin, Jim's son:

"Growing up in the Reed household made for a wonderful childhood. I was very active as a child, involved with little league, swimming, track, debate and mock trial. The encouragement I received and the lessons learned about winning, losing, hard work and dedication on the field and at home have helped me to become successful in my career and in my home life. My father instilled a strong work ethic and taught me the importance of reaching to achieve any goal no matter how seemingly small or out of reach. I am happily married to an incredible woman (Kari), who is a high school English teacher and working towards her Masters in education, recently bought our first house where we live with our two cats and our wild black lab, and am lucky to be working as a district manager for a major beverage distributor. To all of my successes I owe a great debt of gratitude to my father and support him in every way as he continues his quest to become the U.S. Congressman for the 2nd District of California."
